So how long until the federal indictiment of Sarah Palin? You just know the other shoe is falling through the air, about to land. Alaskan sources are saying that her house was built with materials, and possibly labor, from the company that helped build the big, overpriced sports complex in Wasilla. She certainly didn't provide a halfway plausible reason for resigning in mid-term.

Kevin Sandefur is more familiar with the phrase "confirmation of stupidity." It follows many of his actions.

At least he has the backbone to post with a name, though. Many of the people here are too cowardly to do so. That way, they don't have to worry about telling the truth. They don't have to worry about how uneducated and ignorant they are.

We'll resolve that in the future, though, when anonymous posters here are identified.

Glochicken probably should clean the drool off his face. Identify yourself, or admit to being a coward. I can only imagine Glochicken cowering at his keyboard, knowing he would not have the guts to confront anyone or to say anything with his name attached to it. Likely he is unintelligent.

And, Kevvy, have you put up any moldy buildings at taxpayers' expense lately? It's particularly amusing when your group tries to "police" the results of a voter-approved referendum, even as you cannot perform your own roles properly.

I have a feeling the same could be said of many of the anonymous cowards here. Likely they could not organize a two-car parade, but they feel they can sound off as anonymous experts here.

It's very sad. But it'll be fun to start IDing people. Then we'll know who has credibility and who doesn't.

I have to say the last couple of years have opened my eyes to what a mess the local political scene is. I cannot believe the county board has the arrogance even to question a voter-approved referendum, especially after all the board's recent missteps.

The ideas that some of these government bodies come up with are mind-boggling. Prairie grass sculptures along U.S. 45? Get real. All of these crazy proposals would be funded with public money, but they would serve little purpose to the public.

There'd be more public annoyance with some of these things, but the elitists here are very skilled at working to keep the common person down. Lots of backroom dealing; lots of concealing. Did anyone really think three years ago that building a huge complex north of I-74 and moving Christie Clinic was the best move? Hard to say -- no one dared to question the craziness and the scope of the idea. Now we have undeveloped land and purposeless stoplights. Chalk up another "victory" for the C-U elitists and their warped visions. I'm surprised there aren't more of these schemes in the works. No one would question them.

Again, though, it's pointless to put any thought into trying to convince any of the ignorant people here. They're dim, and they'll stay dim.

Kevvy, that wasn't an accusation of a specific misdeed. Also, the "you" doesn't have to be you in particular. Again, nice try, though.

We agree on that point. That's why the anonymous, gutless cowards here need to ID themselves. Saying "He's a kook" or threatening violence repeatedly at a public place -- now THOSE are possibly actionable statements. And "faux hypocorism" or some form of it is actually allowed. I was asking if "you" -- not necessarily you in particular -- had been part of any additional building fiascoes. You could say no -- as you did -- and that would be the end of it. When you keep on like this, it starts to sound like "protesting too much."

Regarding the usual challenge to "serve or shut up": Sorry, no. Doesn't work that way. In fact, any elected official who makes that claim is announcing that he or she needs to be voted out ASAP. I might enjoy serving on a board or two. But I wouldn't enjoy nodding at some elitist's idiotic idea to build prairie grass sculptures along U.S. 45. I wouldn't enjoy trying to repair the damage created by another board's foolish decisions from a decade earlier. I wouldn't enjoy pretending that a voter-approved referendum needs scrutiny, especially when said board has been more than reckless with said voters' money.

Right now, my act to improve the community is to deal with this site, which I believe to be a tremendous disservice to the community. We don't need anonymous stone-throwers. Many of the people here could pack up and leave today, and they would not be missed. We'd be better off.

Kevvy, does anyone put up a large building by themselves? Get real.

Um, that's the intent. Glad you picked up on that. I was playing off your original comment, which also displayed those traits.

Don't you have to start planning for an election to lose?

Does an insincere apology count? If so, then I'm sorry that statement bothered you.

How do I know whether you're running for office in 2010? There's a live link with your name on it, so I went off that. That would be no different than what people do here all the time. They see a line of text. They don't bother to check it. They post about it.
