I hope it is investigated thoroughly...

Volk next???

"Volk next???"

There are no allegations that I'm aware of that Bill Volk has done anything like what Palazzolo is alleged to have done.

So, how do the 20-some people that Vito fired or forced out, while the Board looked the other way, get their lives back? And what about the whistle blower, Scott, who lost her job while Vito got paid for three months. Is there going to be any accountability by this Board for the way it has messed with people, and wasted the taxpayers' money?

You vote out the three elected members of the Board when they come up for election.

You mean Volk hasn't wasted tax dollars?

Do taxpayers need MTD to have a fancy custom kitchen in their office?

No they don't but they have one!

If you have allegations of criminal behavior, please refer them to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.  That's what's apparently happened in the CUPHD case. I know of no allegations of criminal misuse of funds by Bill Volk.

Again, if you disagree with his policies, so be it.  There's no reason to go overboard.

I agree with IP, if you have charges bring them to the proper authorities, if not just give it time. These people have a unique way of "diggin there own hole"

From this morning's online NG:  Public Health Chief Fired.  CUPHD board also voted to turn over all financial records to Champaign Police Department.  One of the more enlightening sections of the article:  "Asked why it had taken more than a year for the board to find out Palazollo had been charging meals and Cafe Kopi or Starbucks beverages to the district, among other problems, Weibel answered, "That's a good question."  No kidding, that's a good question; will it ever be answered is mine.  Also, can the CUPHD seek to recoup the misspent funds by filing a civil suit against Palazollo, or will that be something included in any criminal case against the former director?

BTW, turns out Vito's lawyer isn't Tom Hagen, but a woman named Traci Nally.  Anyone seen a horse's head, i seem to have misplaced it...  ;-)

HG

The only way to address this is through the voting booth.  Does anyone know when any of the three are up for re-election?  This alone should give people enough reason to vote them out, as if Linda Abernathy hasn't given us plenty of other reasons.

I know Abernathy is up in 09.  I imagine so is the other twp sup.  I'd have to look about the CC Board Chair, but that can be brought up in the County meeting easy enough to ask for that person to either (1) step down, (2) be removed from the Chairmanship.

Weibel is up for election in 2008.  He is in District 7, and has been a reasonably effective county board chair.  So, it's highly doubtful he could be voted out.  I doubt the Republicans will even run a candidate against him.
