"Lying to ourselves is more deeply ingrained than lying to others." Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Ralph, I like the quote.

We recently got this question posted to the UCIMC website. "Are judges allowed to declare themselves as Green, Independent, or other parties?" I figured that this would probably be the domain of Mark or Joan.

I could care less about party affiliations but what is really needed is some performance metrics for these people so voters could make better judgements.

Here is a quote for you far RIGHTEES----"Anyone who acts as if freedom's defenses are to be found in suppression and suspicion and fear confesses a doctrine that is alien to America."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969)

How about this one from Jonah Goldberg at NRO today:

A Lott colleague once said, “After pork, Trent's default position is conservative, but he likes to compromise.”

I think people from both sides of the aisle can appreciate the humor in this one.

Dear Local Voter,

Still worrying about us supressing, suspicious, fearful righties? How about if we suppress fear and suspicion, or if we are suspicious of fear and suppression? I personally fear suppression and suspicion.

I am afraid this was not Ike's best quote, too much ambiguity.

John
